Hi!
Well well well, look what the cat dragged in (a new year). Does it seem impossible to you that it’s 2025, when last year was 2019? I am still very much in a place of loungewear and it occurred to me this morning that come mid-March, it will be officially half a decade since I last got dressed in different outfits five days a week. (Maybe you’re in the same boat as I am!)
That feels…wild? And maybe sort of depressing? I can’t believe I would wear different clothes every day?
One of the things I have challenged myself to do in January is to put on real pants to take my dog to the dog park at 7:30am rather than show up in my purple GAP sweatpants. This is partially because Cosmopolitan circa early 2000s drilled it into me that I always need to be ready to meet the love of my life, an ex-boyfriend, or a potential boss at any time. I’ll be damned if I meet any of those people while wearing my (beloved) purple GAP sweatpants. But listen if they can’t handle me at my purple GAP sweatpants…see where I’m going with this? Anyway, I wore jeans and a sweater and a real coat to the dog park this morning, because who knows better than the editors of Cosmo?
BTW the sweatpants are on sale, true to size.
Before we get into it, we’re running our One Big Sale of Gee Thanks! premium through the end of January! This is the best (and most cost-effective) way to support Gee Thanks! You get all of our new episodes of the podcast, our One Big Sale emails, dispatches from my shopping cart and more more more. Regular subscribers will still get the occasional free email and our gift guides during the holiday season. We won’t run another sale on premium until October!
Below:
The expensive product that I wish wasn’t “worth it” but is (and I am rebuying)!
Something I sadly returned after I bought it on Black Friday (save your money and don’t make the mistake I made)!
A January tradition I introduced to a few of my friends last week (you can do it too)!
Also, I am calling it now: I already made my best purchase of 2025. It's in my apartment. I bought it on January 4th. Nothing will top it this year.
