What: The Medium Transport Tote

How much?: $168 but it’s 30% off until the end of the day

Anything I should know?: This is the underdog Madewell bag. IMO, better than the OG Transport Tote. I know! I’m crazy! And 30% off is a great deal but it ends tonight. Want to see more of the best of the Madewell sale? We have you covered. But again, IT ENDS TONIGHT.

Everyone loves the Transport Tote, the OG. Here’s why I don’t: The shoulder straps aren’t long enough to fit around the shoulder, and some of the tote options don’t have a long strap. I want to be able to sling my bag on my shoulder. I don’t want to use my hands or carry it in the crux of my arm. That, to me, sounds like hell.

The medium TT fixes this issue. The shoulder straps can accommodate a lot more arm and it comes with a longer strap, which you can swap out for any strap (I have this one), but is sturdy on its own.

It can also carry a lot, including a MacBook Pro (dimensions: 12 1/4"H x 11"W x 5 1/2"D). The leather patinas really nicely over time, and it goes with everything, all year long. The front pocket is perfect for the phone, boarding pass, anything you need to grab at a moment’s notice, and it’s big enough and deep enough to not feel like things are going to slip out.

I bought this bag several years ago at the same $168 price. Madewell has a line of bags (in this case, the transports) that stay in circulation for years. The price only goes down during sales. Sometimes they do spin offs of those bags with additional features like a zipper closure. 30% off is a great sale because we know these bags won’t be deeply discounted at the end of the season or end up on the sale rack. Rakuten users can also get 1% cash back (I know, I know!).

It’s also eligible for monogramming. I never monogram my bags but I do love the look of them, so you have that option.
